Terms of use

Last updated: May 12, 2026

OpenBurnBar is open-source software offered under the MIT License, plus an optional in-app subscription billed through the Apple App Store. By installing or using OpenBurnBar, you agree to the terms below. If you don't, please don't install the software.

1. License — the app

The OpenBurnBar source code is released under the MIT License. The MIT terms govern your use, modification, and distribution of the source. The disclaimer of warranty in the MIT License applies.

2. License — this website

Content on burnbar.ai (copy, illustrations, generated mockups) is the property of Imagine That AI LLC. You may quote and reference with attribution. You may not reproduce the site in full or use it to imply endorsement.

3. Subscription terms (Hosted Quota Sync)

  • The OpenBurnBar Cloud subscription (product id com.openburnbar.hostedQuotaSync.monthly) is offered as an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store at an intended price of US $4.99 per month.
  • Billing, taxes, and currency conversion are handled by Apple under the terms of the App Store. We do not see or store payment cards.
  • The subscription auto-renews monthly unless canceled. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on iPhone or iPad.
  • Refunds are governed by Apple's standard App Store refund policy at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • The subscription is bound to your Firebase UID via a signed Apple appAccountToken UUID and verified server-side against Apple's getAllSubscriptionStatuses endpoint.
  • We may rate-limit hosted refresh and relay capacity (see the pricing page for current caps).

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) attempt to circumvent the entitlement model or rate limits; (b) use OpenBurnBar's hosted infrastructure to relay traffic that doesn't belong to you; (c) reverse-engineer the JWS verification or App Check chain; (d) use OpenBurnBar to violate any provider's terms of service for the credentials you connect.

5. Trust boundaries

OpenBurnBar reads provider data only with credentials or session material you explicitly provide. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to connect any credential you supply, and for keeping those credentials secret. We will not knowingly process credentials we believe are not authorized by their issuer.

6. Disclaimer of warranty

OpenBurnBar is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Cost numbers are estimates from public vendor pricing tables; we do not warrant accuracy and you should not rely on OpenBurnBar for accounting, tax, billing, or compliance decisions.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Imagine That AI LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of OpenBurnBar — including but not limited to lost profits, business interruption, loss of data, or unexpected vendor charges.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted in the project changelog and reflected in the "last updated" date above.
